Programs and Services

Overview

 
 
 
Salisbury Elementary provides the
following programs and services for grades Kindergarten through 6th grade.
 
 
Classrooms are heterogeneously grouped with developmentally-appropriate practices emphasized.
 
 
Language arts are integrated throughout the day, using Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) resources.  The Science of Reading approach is utilized as we support each learner's journey towards becoming a proficient reader. 
 
 
Thinking skills are integrated into every curriculum area.
 
 
Comprehensive math program with an emphasis on basic skills, as well as problem-solving. Facilitators use Eureka Math Squared to teach fundamental math skills and provide learners opportunities to practice skills.
 
 
The Science curriculum provides hands-on learning opportunities for all learners at Salisbury.
 
 
Art, music, library, STEM, and health/physical education specialists provide experiences in these areas.
 
 
Instrumental music instruction is offered to learners in grades 4 -6.  Learners in grades 5 & 6 have the opportunity to participate in Chorus and the Orff & Drum ensemble
 
 
One-to-One technology; iPads K-4, laptops 5-6.
 
 
Paraprofessionals and volunteers help to support our learners.
 
 
Gifted and talented students are provided with extensions and enrichment experiences.
 
 
Educational assemblies and trips are provided throughout the year.
